When we are in a place where we feel stuck and with few options it's important to remember that God sees and knows exactly where we are at. He cares about every aspect of our lives. I truly believe that He allows us to be in difficult places for a purpose. In every situation we find ourselves in, God wants to show us more of Himself and for us to come to know Him in new ways. He wants to reveal His power and strength...He wants us to see that He can do what no man can do... He wants us to learn to trust Him and to have a deeper, stronger relationship with Him.
The Bible tells us that everything that was written in the past was to teach us, encourage us and to give us hope. There are many examples in the Bible of people who found themselves in what seemed like hopeless situations with no way of escape. They were in places where it seemed like the only thing to do was to give up and resign themselves to face their fate…. we think of Daniel in the lion’s den; Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace; Moses and the Israelite's at the Red Sea; Joseph when he was sold into slavery, then imprisoned; Job; Peter in prison...These are just a few of the examples that are in the Bible for our benefit.
All of these are examples of people who were in seemingly impossible situations. In our humanness it's easy to wonder, “Why God?” “Where are you?” “Have you forgotten me?” but, during our difficult times we have to remember God's promises...He says His thoughts for us out number the grains of sand...that He will never leave us or forsake us...that His eye is on us and His ear is open to our cries...that He will work all things together for good for those who love Him...that He will redeem all that the enemy meant for harm..
Our assignment during difficult times is to ask God what He wants to teach us...to see how He wants to reveal Himself to us...to see how He can be glorified in our lives and our circumstances...every trial is an opportunity to know God in new ways and to grow our faith...our trials teach us patience and endurance...it's in the trials that we can learn to live with no fear and to find out how to have His peace that passes all understanding...the enemy means for our trials to discourage us...to make us fearful and depressed...to make us full of anxiety and worry... to make us doubt God, His love and His Word...we have to remember that we may not have control over our circumstances, but we do have control over how we will react to our circumstances... we have the ability to choose one thought over another...we can choose to trust or doubt...
Please don’t let the enemy tell you that there are no options or that your situation is hopeless... Our God is the God of Hope...He is still on the throne and He is still doing miracles... He still redeems, renews and restores... He is still the Creator of All who loved you so much that He sent His Son to die in your place... He is still sovereign and is daily working behind the scenes to work everything for our good and His glory… let your situation, with God's help, transform you, instead of break you. You may feel weak and weary, but that is when God's power is perfected in us. Let Him transform you mentally, emotionally and spiritually. You are in a place where spiritual giants have been... you are not alone, forgotten or abandoned...God knows what He is doing and His plan is for your good and to bring good out of your situation. Ask God to help you see your trials through the eyes of faith... Ask Him to show you how to rest and relax in His arms...Ask Him to show you how to let go and trust Him so you can be filled with His peace and lose all fear. He is so faithful friends. He holds you in the palm of His hands and He wants you to find his gifts and blessings in the midst of your struggles...
Please bless the person reading this. May they feel your nearness. May they find courage, boldness and strength as they remember your promises. May they find encouragement as they think about all the stories in the Bible of people who were delivered and overcame. May they remember that you are greater than anything in this world...may they remember that they are surrounded by angel armies and that things aren't over until you say they are over. Please move in such a way that they have no doubt that you are real and that you care and that you have a bigger plan for their circumstances beyond what they can see. May they find rest and peace in your arms today. In the name of Jesus we ask these things. Amen
